Mrs. Emma White, 207 1-2 North 16th St died at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Hospital, following a serious illness of eight weeks.  She was born in Parke County May 30, 1880 and lived at Crawfordsville until 1912 when she took up her residence in this city. Surviving are two sons: Nuel H and Cecil T of this city; one daughter, Essie V. White, also of Lafayette; two sisters: Mrs. Albert Smiley of Rockville and Mrs. James S. Deveraux of Los Angeles; and one brother, Earl Burkes of Crawfordsville. Mrs. White was a member of the Baptist Church. The body was taken to the Templeton Funeral Home to be prepared for burial and will be returned to the North 16th Street residence Monday evening at 5 o’clock after which time friends may call.  Funeral services will be conducted from the family home at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Mr. Starrett of the Baptist Church assisted by Rev. Mr. Moore of St. Paul’s Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery.
